Great idea. Two I paid money for! Chuck Berry Royal Concert Hall-turned up late and punters had gone home! A so called "Drifters" act where they mimed to a backing tape. Or a Pete Doherty "event!" at Barrowland I was taken to by a "friend" in the music business! It wisnae the whisky he was on that night!! Three "bizarre" concerts. Any more? Must be dozens. I will never forgot that Eagles one as the punters kept shouting for Hotel California etc.We got I think four/five bars at most of that one.But they droned on and on with their "latest" album! Then they just sort of upped sticks and wandered off stage.

Yes, that is rather a good idea.

I have several suggestions, the first and foremost of which is U2 at Strathclyde University. I confess to actually having quite liked their records until I saw them live. If there's a more preening, prancing ninny than Bono in the world then I fortunately have never had the displeasure of encountering them before or since.

Rush at the SECC. I couldn't leave as my son was there and was only 17 at the time. It agitated me so much that I was subduing impulses to lash out and hit someone - anyone. By nature, I'm not a violent man so I walked out and stood in the rain until my son and friends came out. I mean my friends, not my son's.

Ocean Colour Scene, back in February this year. Not the band that made the concert bad, it was more the venue. The O2 ABC in Sauchiehall St, I've never been in (nor hope to re-visit) such a dive in all my adult life. I reckon the management oversold this gig, as it seemed to be dangerously overcrowded, and this was the reason I walked out early. Shame, as I've been a huge OCS fan for years.
Hope the new Hydro will kick all these old venues into touch, this day and age we shouldn't be packed in like sardines into old, cold ex cinema houses & bingo halls.
