Hi all!

Postby sluddy » Fri Jun 17, 2011 7:14 pm

Hey guys, thought I'd post a wee note to say hey. I have browsed these forums almost non stop for about two years now but have never felt the urge to register as I never had anything interesting to say. I still don't, but thought I'd persevere none the less.

Oh, actually - one major thing I would actually like to say is THANK YOU! All the terrific hard work from everybody on this site has produced one of the most intriguing, informative resources on the web and I have lost many many hours reading about the wonderful gems hidden from my view. Although I'm not originally from Glasgow I have grown so familiar with the city I simply cannot imagine living anywhere else now!

One other thing I'd like to add is that I'm currently in the process of compiling a definitive collection of 1960s Glasgow city planning information (Bruce report, brutalism, beeching axe) and would love your input as it progresses.

Thanks all!

Sam

Thank you very much! Hoping there's a meetup or walk one day soon so I could put some faces to the (user)names :)

Fantastic first post and such a welcome change from the usual one liners, or negative posts that appear infrequently on here. I agree with you this is a great site, one of the best but it's even better when people of your calibre come in and add to the story...

Welcome and well done!

Evening Sluddy and welcome .. we'll all be happy to see you at a meet although your thoughts on it being a good idea to put faces to names may well prove fraught with disappointment .. there's a few right uggers on here.

I'm a complete shocker but you really want a welders mask to go looking at the likes of Groover or Hungry Joe.

Sounds like we need to plan a summer swally.

Or maybe a masked ball by the sounds of things ;)

Hi Sluddy, welcome. I used to live in EK in a previous life, my mum was born in Dennistoun & my Grandpa hailed from Possil. That's my credentials, I'm yet to receive my HG mug and membership card but!!
