P.M. etiquette

Is it rude to just ignore a P.M.?
I don't mean an offensive one either.

Probably not HJ, and more so if it's not an offensive one.

Someone is obviously interested in something that you've said. In good faith they want to agree with you or ask you a question about your opinion, so common courtesy would require a reply.

If at some stage that correspondent becomes a total annoyance, then you would be quite within your rights to ask them not to indulge in any further correspondence. If that stage is reached and they persist with their annoyance, then feel free to be as rude as you want to them, even venting your frustrations in public and on this forum.

After all, a few of our contributors imbued with their own 'self-importance' (and I don't include you in that) use the forum to do that regular basis.

I very rarely answer pms and occasionally copy and paste them on to the public forums. It's something to do with revealing my e mail address and maintaining a reputation. I've just checked my in box and the last pm I got asked me a question I didn't know the answer too so nil response.

Grammar, spelling, who cares? Rumbled once more, and to think I gave you the benefit of the doubt and deleted my post on another thread to save you some face...

The forum does not disclose your email address to the other party when you send a private message. It stores your email address in order to notify you of various system events such as the arrival of an incoming message.
