Did you upgrade from Firefox version 2 to version 3?

When you say you can't access your course notes now what exactly do you mean? Is it perhaps that your logon details were cached in the previous installation and you can't remember them now?

The obvious quick fix it to try and use IE to see if you can access your notes and then deal with the Firefox problem when you have more time.

If you really want to try you could install version 3.0 again which you can find here:

http://www.oldapps.com/firefox.htm

Just install over the current version.

Good luck.

Firefox 3 has caused me no end of trouble. Use IE for your course and back track on your version of FF

I've heard of quite a few folks having problems with the upgrade from FF2 to FF3, losing bookmarks/cookies/cache etc but I have to say the changover was pretty seamless for me.

I've been running FF3 for a couple of months now with neary a glitch in sight.

Firefox 3, or 3.01, is a great upgrade to the best browser out there.

Most sites are STILL only fully compatible with IE because they can't be arsed making their websites have cross browser support.

Thanks for your help, panic over, I have managed to get it working. Usually if a site needs IE to work, I don't use it. I have been using FFox for years and used Opera before that. I have a yahoo browser (uses IE) for emergencies, but I have a scripting error on it and can't be bothered fixing it, I think I maybe should get round to it just incase!! I am doing my ECDL online and it is doing my nut in. I have been working with computers for many years but don't actually have a piece of paper that says I can. It is the most stupid course I have ever done and starts with identifying computer parts eg mouse, keyboard. You can't actually do the course if you can't work the basics as it is an online course! It is Microsoft though!

I have had no problems with it either until it updated yesterday.

Help!

My machine has stopped playing audio from embedded video sites such as youtube etc on any of my browsers.

I've reinstalled flash player, checked the registry entry for wavemapper, switched things off and on .. the lot, all to no avail.

Flash video (.flv) files play fine through FLVPlayer etc, sound intact, but wont play the audio when played through a browser.

 ???

Ahem!!

It does, of course, help matters if you have the volume slider pushed up from 'off'.

The end.

Doorwedge, You continue to slay me, you really do.

Can I suggest you go back to using "Etch-a-sketch" - Any problems encountered using it can be succesfully resolved by picking it up and shaking it !

You see where I'm coming from here ?

Not a problem, just looking for advice - I am going to buy my daughter a laptop for her birthday (21st)her computer she has at the mo has seen better days, it was made of spare bits, hers gets upgraded when mine does! Anyway, I do not know much about laptops, does anyone know if the AMD Turion's are decent processors or should I stick this intels?

(I ask because I have had AMD's for many years not particularly liking intel, but not sure about the laptop ones)

Cheers for any advice :)

If she's just farting about on Bebo and downloading a few tunes it'll do the trick nicely.

Post a link to whatever you're buying and we'll take a look.

Thought this one looked like a good buy, just not sure about the processor. As mentioned before I have always had Athlons, but I know nothing about laptops.
