You can't force the parents to teach them - unless the government invent the Polite troops and cut benefits if the children don't say thanks 8O
You can't give up on them either if they have bad parenting. Children who are dragged up deserve even more attention - in an ideal classroom.

Well, despite the manifesto promises, there's no sign of 'an ideal classroom' in 21st century Scotland.

Class sizes are bigger than ever, whilst many schools operate at a fraction of capacity. More and more teachers, expensively trained teachers, can't find jobs. Day rates for supply teachers have been just about halved in the last year. The Curriculum for Excellence is turning out to be a joke. Financial support for pre-school nurseries is vanishing like snaw aff a dyke.

Nobody, I hope, is suggesting we give up on the fruit of the wombs of bad parents, but the old adage about no being able to make a silk purse out of a pig's ear is appropriate here.

You have to teach, ideally by example, good habits before the bad habits get a chance to sow their cancerous seeds.

You may have read of Tory plans to issue parenting vouchers which can be cash in for sessions on how to bring up weans

It transpires one of the firms running these classes, being supported from public funds, went to school with Cameron and is a pal of Gove.

"A venture run by a contemporary of David Cameron at Eton and friend of the Education Secretary Michael Gove has been awarded a key government contract to provide courses on parenting.

Ministers will announce plans this week to issue £100 vouchers, distributed through Boots, for parents to redeem up to 10 two-hour sessions on how to bring up their children.

The £5m pilot scheme will initially be launched in three areas and, if successful, will be rolled out nationwide at a cost of hundreds of millions of pounds. "

So who delivers these sessions?
The usual middle class types who have never actually brought up kids?
Or is there a more sinster side to this and folk approved by the PM who will actually brian wash the kids?
He advocated for the weak against the strong, the poor against the rich and labour against capital.
