She said she enjoyed it but I think she was just saying that. I thought he was brilliant.

He did a great version of the Hurdy Gurdy Man and Its All Too Much.

Come on the Hippies

Wish I'd seen that Alex. I loved Steve before i went all 'indie' and swapped my copy of Green (in green vinyl) for a copy of Live at the Witch Trials. Later, I learned to listen to and love both.

Only Steve Hillage could have a track called 'The salmon song'
(and its a great track, by the way - Live Herald - what an album, Lunar Musick Suite - guitar magician

My first gig was Motorhead at the Apollo in 79 - absolutely wonderful. My biggest regret is missing an opportunity to see Frank Zappa at the same venue (my Da wouldnt let me - a decision which seriously affected my choice of nursing home for him..(kidding).

I didnt belong to a subculture, I couldnt afford it.

Trudger

Fopp have a few of Steve's albums on CD. I was tempted to buy them. May even go back in next week and get them.

Zappa would have been great. I wish I had seen him too.

A couple of my mates were into Gong. I always missed them but my brother went and said they were great live.

Also thinking of starting to collect the Gratful Dead. Jerry is the man (was).

Well that might take you to 90 but you'll need a new home to house them. Or some space at the Nitshill museum.

and that's not including the bootlegs

Thanks for the link Dex :D

Didn't realise there was so many

I have tried to convince CLS that they should collect old LPs and 45s. Think I will ask them if it would be possible to add a wee section onto phase 2 at GMRC (Nitshill) so that I can store all the various items - including my LPs.

By the way Dex never got round to thanking you for your support on the West End site. Appreciated :D My spelling hasn't improved any

At various time in his life, HH was:
A Mod :wink: a "weekend" Hippie ::): & a Skinhead 8O

Pee Ess, he also wanted to be a "Black Panther" but was allergic to cats.

There is photographic evidence of the first two incarnations

I'll admit to white boiler suits, whistles and Vicks face masks. Spent most of my time in De Ja Vu/Heaven/Industria (pre Union St Cathouse) with the monthly foray to the all-nighter in the Plaza. The Cathouse still has the Industria doors on it IIRC.

I can't believe there has only been 2 votes for MOD! - there were thousands of mods in Glasgow, as i know some of you will remember, and there were definitely more mods hanging about the toon at any one time than punks or skins or rockers or teds.

here is a video i put together of the Glasgow Mods:

And this is the Glasgow Mods Website:
