Tonight I should be watching my son Ross supporting Josh Baulf at The Stand, Glasgow tonight, my old stomping ground!

Doctor Who.

The new chap, Ncuti Gatwa, good actor, good looking lad, no question of that.
But I'm feeling the writing is letting him down a bit.
Another sunrise with my sad captains, with who I choose to lose my mind,
And if it's all we only pass this way but once, what a perfect waste of time.

Over the past week or so, I've been binge watching a show called "Icons Unearthed".

It's a documentary series, seven seasons so far, six episodes per season, each season focusing on a different pop culture media franchise - Star Wars, Batman, The Simpsons, The Fast & the Furious, James Bond, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the Lord of the Rings/Hobbit movies.

'Night Caller' about a taxi driver leading a monotonous life of night shifts who listens to a radio show.
He decides to phone the programme and then there is a series of events that take place.
Stars Robert Glenister and Sean Pertwee.

I'm recording 'The Turkish Detective' on another channel and will watch it another time.

Just finished binging 'Those About to Die' on Prime. Political shenanigans, chariot racing, and gladiatorial conflict in ancient Rome as the Coliseum is about to open. Tom Hughes is good as Titus Flavianus, Iwan Rheon excellent as Tenax. Anthony Hopkins makes the most of his few appearances as the ageing Vespasian.

You can tell they haven't spent a huge budget on sets as most of the backdrops are clearly LED videowall, and the lighting is so gloomy I had to close the curtains to have any chance of seeing what was going on. The CG animals in the arena are also a bit clunky, but passable.

As you might expect, there's plenty of violence and lots of shagging going on; overall, it's entertaining enough if you can forgive its production shortcomings.

Creeping Spleen,

I do like McDonald & Dodds.
I have been to Bath and it is a nice spot so try to see if I can recognise some of the locations.
