According to my team lead, Lynne, one of the higher ups (she didn't say who) doesn't like the way I've got my workspace set up.
Surely, as long as I'm doing my job the best I can, how I lay out my gear is nobody's business but mine?
I'm gonna have a wee quiet word with her tomorrow morning, just to let her know my thoughts on the matter.
In my role, I used to hear the phrase "people were saying or are saying" and quite often those 'people' was the person relating the apparent concern of others was the person who was saying and making up the nonsense of 'the people were saying' and each time she used the phrase, I would publicly challenge her, 'Who are these people? The floor is open, speak now or forever haud yer wheest' and not once did anyone speak, not once did these people come forward for they simply didn't exist. It was her own views that she tried to express under the caveat of 'others' and perhaps this is what you're facing!
I like a tidy desk in my office but it's not just now as everything has been dumped so that I can tend to it during the festive season when I will be about but the truth is, it's not life threatening, it's not going to change any outcomes on my productivity or results, my desk will be there when I'm not and life's too short to let these high heid yins get to us - if they have an issue, tell them to speak to you directly and not use a messenger, always works for me. (BUT I am a cheeky, rebellious sod and they know it but I get things done and moving)...
