Billy Connolly - Winning Freedom of Glasgow

Postby Pointyears » Sun Sep 05, 2010 11:37 am

His personal politics and statements are rife with hypocrisies and he has a chequered history when it comes to autograph hunters - but I don't know anyone he hasn't made laug hat some point in his career. I think he's no actor so should stay away from that, but he deserved his Freedom of the City - and if no banana-boot wearing statue is erected in George Square after the Big Yin's death then Glaswegians should protest.
Anyway - sorry for rambling - Radio Scotland reported that Connolly received the freedom of the City of Glasgow and said that one of his new found priviledges was to "graze cattle on Glasgow Green" - but surely, according to ancient laws, anyone can graze cattle on the common area of Glasgow Green?

So if you take your cattle to Glasgow Green, do you have to chase after them picking up their doings and put it in those dog-jobbie bags? I could *probably* think of worse ways to spend a day, but it might take some thought.

Is it just me, or has The Big Yin had a wee touch of the cosmetic surgery? His cheekbones look gey shiny.

I think he looks good (I take it it's not a wig) 8O
Hate the way he keeps scratching his head. Always wondered if it was a calulated move to look down to earth or just nervousness.
Met him on three occasions over the years, last two times he was friendly, the first time he was a pain bit then so was I.......... probably
Yes HH,I know
