Don't get x box 360, they break down too easily, (on 3rd one, and we are not heavy gamers as such) wii is great if you are going to be playing while drinking recommend Ravin rabbids (totally stupid game) and mario/sonic at olympics, it also has the option on wii fit (not recommended when drinking or when someone is behind you with a camera!!)

For more serious games it has got to be PS3, blows the others out of the water.

It's all exxen Boxxen Fossil my old son .. for they are of a build quality close to (but not quite attaining) that of an old Lada Riva.

I know loads of people who were mental enough to buy the exxen boxxen when it hit the market first (probably because it hit the market first) but I only know one out of that gaggle who hasn't had to send it back for first aid. Some of them, like my brother, have had to send theirs back a few times.

Crunching noises, overheating, permanently and unrecoverably scoring and marking game discs, red rings of death .. the lot. Add to this the fact that Micro$haft wriggle like a bitch to avoid taking the blame for faults that are obviously due to shoddy workmanship and you've got a recipe for heartache.

PS3 all the way mate .. for home or online gaming it's got all the trump cards.

Nope not just older models, our last one was an elite, supposedly they don't have the same problems, erm, yes they do!! Red ring of death strikes again

They now offer a 3 year warranty for this, however it involves sending your xbox to Germany, where the refurbish them, you don't even get your own back, just the first one ready to be returned, so your hardly used xbox is replaced by one that could have been severely abused. No point in getting them repaired, they only last a couple of months then break down again.

Microsoft shite!

Maybe just lucky but I got mine back checked the serial number.

wii = most family involved fun
360 = best online gaming
ps3 = best graphics and some really good unique games

360 best for online games? Are you sure about that?

Micro$haft charge like wounded bull for online gaming priveledges (PS3 online gaming is free) plus, woe betide you should you decide to criticise anything pertaining to Micro$haft on any of the online forums. One of the blokes I was on about previously had his online gaming account frozen for having the temerity to complain about the reliability of his Exxen Boxxen.

Only say ing that at the moment the 360 has the best online community.

I have all 3 machines but it is mostly my son that plays the xbox and mostly on line

psn has had problems but it is getting there. I prefer the ps3 though for gaming solo.

I still would say that the wii, though fun is more for kids, and in our case the wife. ::):

Must admit I do like my 360, and i've only had to send it back once. (and I got the same one back). Can't compare it to the PS3 as I haven't used one, but I don't think it would be that much better to justify my outlay. FPS rule :D

The XBOX/PS3 debate goes on daily in my work.

XBOX live does beat Network into the ground even if you do have to pay £40 a year (not really a lot).

PS3 pumps XBOX in the hardware stakes though. XBOX has over a 50% failure rate which is just rubbish to be honest. (PS3 is 10% and Wii is 6%). Not that many people care as they're still flying out the shops.

Being able to stream all my films and music through my XBOX is just brilliant though.

Anyway we all know the Wii is the dugs baws for some family entertainment and general tom foolery. :D
