Do you still frequent the Sun Inn? That and the Tudor Inn seem to have retained poor reputations although that often os very unfair.

Thanks

On a related note has anyone noticed that they've put Tartan Special back into production again?? Saw it on the shelves of Asda the other day and got the shock of my life!

My brother was on call at the Royal and they used to go the Royal Bar and someone had a pager thing so if they were needed
they could go back. That was way back nearly 50 years ago. There was another pub near/ or in Glebe Street but it was out of range of the pager "thing" and occasionally it was used.! Would not happen now or would it? Medics and nurses chilling in the pub when "on call"!

Ours was in the New Regent on Pollokshaws Rd age 17. It was always a struggle to get served in Glasgow but if someone would drive to Stewarton we could get in almost anywhere.

Okay, I'll use that thread to introduce myself as well. I had my first pint at a local bar in... Bruges, Belgium, where I live. I just registered on this website because I travel a lot with my wife, and we especially love the UK. We've been to London (of course), Canterbury, Liverpool, Edinburgh and Glasgow already, and guess which city gave us the desire to come back?

So, here am I, to talk about what's happening there and about what's not to miss when we're heading back there.

Oh, and by the way, my first pint in Glasgow was at the Brel, because we saw it was recommended when doing a Google search...

Welcome to HG Strelets. You are naughty not to use the coffee lounge to introduce yourself. I'll forgive you :D
I worked for 9 months in Brussels many years ago, don't remember the paid job due to working my way through the beers available in town :?
