April 1973 Tavern Millport was my first taste of that delightful brew Younger's Tartan Special.
First legal pint was in Whitevale Bowling Club, Dennistoun November 24th 1974.

March 1973, the Steps Bar Glassford St, i was 15, and had been called as a witness for my boss at the old sheriff court in Ingram St. He was found not guilty, so to celebrate he bought me lunch plus 3 pints of lager. On the bus home i thought my bladder was going to explode. needless to say my bladder has since expanded, and can easily hold 15 or so pint's. ::):

Probably the Staging Post in Airdrie in '87. Boyfriend and his pals were older so I got away with being underage :)

I've heard of the Pioneer - its a really good thing for people to do and being of irish decent (and born in Ireland) although living in Scotland, I know of a good many of my family who too part in the Pioneer - some people took it for a year or for life. My uncle took it on a yearly basis although he wanted to take it for life he decided that the best way to annoy my aunt was to do it yearly because she dreaded when it came to the end of the year incase he had a blow out and she used to pray even harder then for him not to take a drink! Dont know many people who would even entertain it now! :D

In my younger days it was Hegarty's, Oxford Street, long gone.
First started work it was The Manx? (?sp) and Royalty across the road from the GRI also long gone.
Saturday nights it was the Amphora in Sauchiehall Street, great rock bands, its still there but called something else now.
When I lived on the Southside it was the Albert Bar, Newlands Hotel Bar and Bothwell Hotel also known as the country club on a Saturday night.
