Mines was the Pippin on Duke Street just at Parkhead Cross.

The Pippin's away now, was pulled down a couple of years ago to make way for flats. Am I right in saying that former Celtic player Danny McGrain used to own this pub?

The Oxford tavern was in Oxford Street and run by the family who owned Quin's in Springburn.

Heraghty's bar is still in the south side before you get to Shawlands.

Hi Folks.

I'm brand new to the site, having just found it as part of my wife and I researching those fortified wine gems of Glasgow. Namely, Lanny and ElDee. Not that they formed part of my upbringing of course.

Anyway, my first pint was in the MacDonald hotel ( now demolished ) at Eastwood Toll on the way out to Newton Mearns.

Cheers...Wee Kenny

Did anyone over the age of 18 drink in the Macdonald Hotel?
