I must be honest, the best restaurants cannot be anything but Sartis

If you've never had a sartis, you’ve never tasted real Italian food

Was in the Piazza Italia in the Italian Centre on Friday night - food was nice, but portions a bit on the small side. Lemon tart was a scliver!

I love Dino's on Sauchiehall Street, family have been going there forever so it's like home. Sarti's also excellent.

"Paperino's", Sauchiehall Street. But only because of the food.

Paperino, Sarti, Vivo, Amore, Soho, La Vita, Qua, Il Pavone and Piccolo Mondo are all very tasty. The food in Italian Cafe Enoteca is lovely, as is the food in its sister restaurant The Italian Kitchen. Amarone is delish too. My fave though is L'Ariosto. Its expensive and old-fashioned but the food is great and the staff are so attentitive.

Toni's on Renfield Street gets my shout, or at least it did until it closed a short time ago :(

I visited a couple of times before gigs in a nearby bar/club, great atmosphere, great food and actual Italian music!

Went to Jamie's last night. Food excellent, as was the service - the staff knew what they were serving and advised accordingly. Wine wasn't overpriced and they serve real tea: made with tea-leaves, in a pot; not a cup of hot water with a tea-bag in it.
It was very busy - at 5.00pm - but we got a table right away. I didn't like the decor and , in truth, it's too big, too busy for my taste: I prefer smaller places.
As to price, it was a bit expensive: £50 for two for one course, one side dish and a bottle. I wonder how long his name can attract these crowds.
Anyone else been?

Eddy

I have to agree with Jeanette, Mimo's is the best value, best location (Ashton Lane) with the best value in Glasgow. Staff are friendly and when you leave you are next to the Cinema or a fabulous range of pubs at your doorstep !!!!

Qua on Ingram Street is a fantastic little Italian...

Full of rustic charm with a special area by the window thats furnished with a large table and chairs made from reclaimed wood...

They do a great sausage risotto..(My personal favourite)

We even took my Italian mother in law and she thought it was great...even though I must admit..her food is the best Italian I have ever eaten!! :D

There's always Il Pavone and Zizi's too, got quite cool new videos on their site http://bit.ly/gaa0yM

Quite like a lot of the other suggestions here, I haven't really found an Italian I don't like...

that said though a lot of friends raved about the Italian Kitchen and once I finally tried it I really didn't see what all the fuss was about! Maybe I went on a bad night :? .

P.S. First post! :D promise to update my profile soon

Only one winner here, get yourself along to Roma Mia in Darnley Street. Ask Michael or Massimo for their Tagliatellie Roma Mia, its gorgeous. Also great service and atmosphere. Would not go any where else.
