Best Italian Restaurants

One of the best we've visited to date is the Torna Sorrento on Woodlands Rd. The staff are ace and the majority of food is home made and prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended.

Is Paperino's still going, on Sauchiehall street? I used to like that place. Loved the little place that used to be on Gibson street, Sal E Pepe... I think that changed over to a bloody Di Maggio's or something rank like that

Italian restaurants are down near the bottom of my favoutite eateries. I used to sort of enjoy Heinz Ravioli in a quick hot lunch sort of way. Was in Andiamo's in Fenwick Road Giffnock one evening. Thought I'd order real ravioli to see what real the real ravioli tastes like. To my horror, their ravioli was no different to Heinz, except for the sprinkling of a green garnish on top!! and of course the price. I could have bought a case of Heinz for what it cost me that night. And my starter? It was a tomato with four cuts. In each cut was a wee slice of cheese!! Gimme a good Indian, Chinese or even fish supper any day!!

italian food must have the biggest mark up anywhere.total rip off prices and to be avoided at all costs.pizza /pasta cost coppers to make yet they try to charge you about eight quid a go.

I love the Battlefield Rest. I have been dining regularly there for years and both food and service are to a consistent high standard.

I will be there again this weekend - yummy.

My favourite Italian in Glasgow, would be Satri's on Bath Street. The Renfield St restaurant is excellent also.

Traditionally cooked, fine Italian cuisine…

Penne Salsiccia with a hint of chilli - Very Tasty !

Paperino's on Byres Road/Sauchiehall Street deserves a second mention cos it's lovely.
Osteria Piero on West Regent Street is nice too.

would second that, not too posh and not too scruffy - cosy and good grub

Guy's restaurant along from Khulai Khans does smashing spaghetti - very eggy and fresh. Romantic surrounding too, very lady friendly, service is a little slow more continental than Glasgow so its a full night effort not a pre-theatre choice really, but worth it.
