We were in the Pollokshields/shaws/whatever one after the 2nd Jan walk last year, and it was fine. Do they own anything else?

Had a delicious vegan curry in 78 tonight for a fiver washed down by a pint of Williams lager at £2:50 accompanied by some reggae sounds fro The Argonauts Starters and deserts are £2 each and so are the side orders of chunky chips.

Went to the Himalaya on Friday for the first time in a couple of years as it was crap last time we were there, but its back in the hands of the former owners Dave and Bill and the food was excellent to the point of slabbering, can`t praise these guys enough for the quality of food and service, welcome back Dave and Bill you have been sorely missed. I now know that I have my local Indian restaurant /take away back in good hands as a prospect to go to or to phone a decent meal.

Recently came back to Glasgow and went back to Himalaya as I remembered it being great the last time. I also wasn't disappointed this time either - I'm drooling just thinking about it! I guess with Glasgow having won the Curry Capital so many times it makes sense that the Indian restaurants I've tried have been great :)

Just before Partick Cross on Argyle Street, but it's a
take away only (if that's allowed here);

Curry Pot

[did not this used to be one of the Chapati # Chain? -
note to self, resurrect wasting time project photographing
current Take Away signage when the weather/light is not
too bad)]

Now I'm no foreign food expert - but this seemed to have a
pleasantly fresh & chirpy taste, not the somehow cloying
drag of some of the take-outs I've had lately in this town.

Maybe one to watch, as they say?

You're too kind on him, Banjo. He refers to foreign food. Does Scotland have any indigenous meals?

Good one but fish stews or chowder existed before it.

Do you mean things that originated here, or that to this day you can only get here? Which latter probably narrows it down to square slice on plain bread, haggis pakora and Buckfast sorbet.

We're all globalised now, y'know.

Glasgow-based curry review site, though they do go as far afield as Tel Aviv and Lenzie:-

Note: I'm not the 'Neil' who responds to some of the reviews...
