Where's everyones favourites?

Mine Mother India - everytime Ive been in had a good meal
and the All in One (RIP) in Dennistoun was good for a carry out.

- The Pir Palace, Uddingston
- Mr Singh's
- The Creme de la Creme

My top three, in order.

Cafe India...worst...the place is dirty,and thats just the parts you can see..

I know the family who own Cafe India, and I have eaten in their house, too. I can assure you, neither their house or the restaurant kitchens are dirty.

When i was last in Cafe India i complained about the state of the toilets, the carpet i fell over, the old food on the cutlery,the carpet has that sticky sensation when walking on it grime i think its called..what i was told was ,there was a large football crowd in that day and that was why the toilets were in such a mess,this pissed me off even more as they knew how bad the toilets were and that they wouldnt be prepared to do anything about it,i then told the manager that the food was ok but due to the hygene i wouldnt use his restaurant again and i certainly wouldnt recommend it to anyone.. so here it is, how i found Cafe India.....

The Village down on Cook Street in Tradeston is exceptional. One of the best kept curry house (until now) secrets in town.
Favoured by the Asian community along with Yadgars in Calder Street, just along from the Baths.
Both set up's are along cafe lines, but through experience I've found that these to be the best in terms of quality of the food and value.

Koh-I-Noor Charing Cross for cheap-n-cheerful pile-it-high buffet, or Mother India for something a bit classier. Dhabba in the Merchant City is good too, but a bit pricy.

i know its a bit out of town but if you're over that way the cafe shabab in newmains is pretty fucking good. although i havent been in about a year its been that good for years. happy memories of childhood flood back

We stopped there for chips and curry sauce one night after a visit to Law Hospital. T'was indeed awesome.

The Bollywood Lounge at the St George's Cross end of Great Western Road. Food's very good. A wee bit more expensive than a number of Indian restaurants but a whole lot better. The whisky curries and beer curries are top notch too. Take away prices reasonable too, again in view of the quality.

I've tried the Ashoka Shaks good food and service. Recently I've heard that these shaks are only finishing places i.e they don't actually cook the food but heat and assemble it.

Is this true?. Maybe that would explain why they can conjure up the full bhuna in 5 mins flat.
