its gotta be ichiban...the only problem is the air ventilation is pretty bad, it stinks of frying oil wehn you come in and although you get used to it, your clothes will get smelly too!!!

try the hot saké, it's amazing!!!

have you tried it yet?

There's Ichiban II near Partick Cross.

I think the one in Ingram Street is Oko.

Worth mentioning is Wagamama on West George Street.

Excellent ramen noodles and soups and a friendly, bustling atmosphere.

I was put off by the complete absence of any Japanese, Chinese or even remotely Asian-looking staff when I was there. Food was ok, on a par with Ichiban but slightly better choice (if like me you get bored with the consistency of the Ichiban menu).

OKO at the very end of Ingram Street (High St end). All I can say is, 'Yummy, scrummy in my tummy'. They do a £15 buffet on a Sunday... yeah...
Oh, I haven't been there in a while, but I think that it is still open.

There is a new japanese place opening on West Regent Street, next to Bamboo, it's called 'Miso'.

Yeah...If you go to Ichiban, try the 'salmon ramen', it's the shiznay.
Don't dream it. Be it.

Ichiban in Partick . . . mmmm. Going there two Thursdays hence. I have
heard fine things about teppanyaki grill at the Arthouse on Bath st, and they do have a real live Japanese chef [ last I heard anyway ]

Anyone going to see Daniel Kitson ?

Ichiban = bad.

Rubbery Octopus, and the waitress steals your wasabi when you're not looking.

Just as well, it made my face red

haha pimping my family's place I see Excoriate, I have you well trained ;)

Oko in Merchant City is pretty damn good, well worth the money if you go for the buffet as Excoriate and I did today, we walked out of there clutching our full bellies going "ohhhh too full...must lie down..."
without you, today's emotions would be the scurf of yesterday's...

I also like Miso. I am really into sushi just now and have bought a sushi kit so I can learn how to make it as it's £3 something as Sainsburys and Marks. I was eating it for breakfast at one point. This is what happens when you play Shogun: Total War.
