Springburn Road - the bricked-up entrance to Saint Rollox station is the highlighted section.

Lovely James. It is a shame the chimneys are now lost.

Nice :-) Although I must admit my attention is more drawn to what's behind it, Springburn tram depot.
Where did you find the first pic ?

What's the current info on the halls?

I notice some metal bracing to keep some of the upper masonry from ending up on the pavement.

Not good, I'd imagine. There's pics on the Virtual Mitchell from 1999 of the inside
of the building and it looked as if it was in a cnut of a state.

Nah you would need to put weedkiller on it first to set fire to it. I had a look inside it about 10 years ago and it was saturated then. Apparently the building has been lying like that for years.

We were looking at it for a proposal to turn into some sort of Community Resource or even Museum. But i think that idea died on its legs due to too many funding partners and not enough funds.

Pity it would make a really good resource for the area.

Probably end up as a Casino or giant bookies.

You know, I'm pretty sure it was still open in the late 70's/early 80's before they
raped the shit out of Springburn with that dual carriageway - I could be wrong,
though.

I was working on Tenement Refurbs up in Petershill Road around 1984 and i think it was closed then but if it was it would not have been long closed as it was still quite fresh looking.

I don't know who owns it. I don't think it is the Council because they would maintain it of course.
