Has anyone seen the supposedly outrageous Ginger Baker documentary, where the blurb has him saying God is only keeping him alive to punish him for past sins?

Not seen. The reviews make plain the man is a complete tool.

Used to have a copy of that Subs single and saw them back in the day - think it was at Satellite City.

The singer Callum is now an actor and has been in loads of productions at places like the Cits and the Arches. He turns up on a lot of Scottish sitcoms too, Legit and Rab C. Nesbitt spring to mind.

Derek Forbes went on to Simple Minds. I saw all their London gigs including one supporting Wreckless Eric. I think they only played about half a dozen zLondon gigs. A Stff Test / Chiswick Challenge at the Royal College of Art followed a few weeks later with their Lonfon assault. They did the Nashville, Red Cow, Vortex and Rochester Cadtle. Early March 78 I think.

I was there the first night. Martin Millar's novel 'Suzy, Led Zeppelin and Me' is set in the days and weeks leading up to the gigs. Recommended.

The Poets' web site is shaping up to be a good source of the really sixties beat scene.

Hello - my name is Julia Nottingham and I am producing a feature documentary with Edwyn Collins and Grace Maxwell about Edwyn recovery from a stroke 7 years ago. We are looking for any unseen archive material from Edwyn's Orange Juice days - we are particularly interested in any non performance footage - more home movie like stuff that sees Edwyn maybe behind the scenes etc. Please get in touch at [email protected] if you can help or reply to me on this. THANKS xxx

Tom Watt was born in Glasgow in 1925, but he got away as soon as he could. He was playing in a group at 16, joined the Jack Chapman Band who played at the Albert Dance Hall in the city's Bath Street. He was a dapper, charismatic man who rejected his father's Christian socialism and yet inherited a similar rigid certainty of outlook about the thing he loved most, music.

Interview with his son Ben on the publication of his book Romany & Tom.

Could a mod edit my post on The Subs above by removing the defunct YouTube link and substituting this one

Round about a dozen times, since you ask.
