honourable mention in despatches to the late Alisdair McKenzie. instrumental in setting up the post punk record label STATIK RECORDS which produced the 12 inch E.P. SECOND CITY STATIK featuring two tracks each from POSITIVE NOISE, RESTRICTED CODE and his own band THE ALLEGED.
LATER in the early eighties he started BOGA-TEN records, helping to put out stuff by APES IN CONTROL, RAPID DANCE.
APES IN CONTROL HAD AT VARIOUS TIMES AS MEMBERS...ALI MCKENZIE, HECTOR BAIN, BRIAN CARLIN, GRAHAM ADAM, EUAN WILKINSON, MARK NUGENT,KEVIN MCCOLLUM , MARTIN COTTER.

and as an afterthought...a memory from queing up to buy tickets for the stones at the apollo 1973?...standing there about six in the morning when a limo goes by and hanging out of it wearing a fur collared coat and waving madly to the queue obviously out of his tree....JOHNNY CASH....who i think had played there the night before

Dear Primate (aaah, the memories)

I was (Probably one of many) Martin Cotter's girlfriend at the time, so all those names brought back some images!!!! ::):

He also had the 'Radio Ghosts' and 'International Spys' doing the rounds with Paul Quinn, Brian McNair, John Dalton and others. Took me to my first gig at the Apollo to see DEVO, romantic to the end.

Martin still strums a mean guitar - Youtube and look up 0ldfinger (the first letter actually being a zero and not an 'o' to see what I mean.

Spent many a weekend at the Howff, Bungalow Bar and most often the Doune Castle, Kilmarnock Rd, Shawlands.

I also typed up one of Simple Minds first interviews given to a local Fanzine which was sold at Listen Records and was produced by a chap called John Gilhooly.

Also, whatever happened to Phil Oaky lookalikey David Rudden and Endgames - anyone know?

Is this the Andreas who oversaw the demise of the Alhambra Inn?

I found this during a desk-clearing frenzy and can't remember where it came from. For the hard of sight, like me, the posters are for "Folk Boat 70" with the Humblebums and a barbeque with Beggar's Opera and Pram - can't make out the venue for this one.

That looks like the stair up to the Third Eye Centre offices.

More likely the home of The Bundoran Club where The Beings played every Saturday night. Kenny Hyslop on the drums.

You've been googling again. You are forgiven but here's three decades of the rosary for your penance.

Talk of Martin Cotter, the Bain brothers and The Bachelor pad leads me inevitably to the Greek Taverna, haunt of many southside musos. Anyone got any memories of this. I was a bit of a hanger on, non musician but big fan of , among others, The Kissing bandits. Recently found a download link to some of their music, if I find it again I'll post it. Remember the Doune Castle and Burns Howf where the big band of the day in the early seventies were Chou Pahrot.
