Otago St. Kelvinbridge:
Image
The sign reads: 'Waddell's Sausages are Best' Apparently there was a 'Waddell's Meat' factory across the Kelvin bridge in North Woodside Rd.
Certainly there were other such factories in the area:
The R.D. Waddell of Napiershall St. may well be the same company as the
Robert Waddell of Dumbarton Rd. mentioned by another lister; as a
limited company you might be able to access some records.

There are a few pictures of the old Waddell's factory in North Woodside Rd. on the Virtual Mitchell. Local children had a song, with several variations:

Waddell's sausages are the best/ in your belly the will rest/ Wadell's sausages are the worst/ in your belly they will burst.

Waddell's sausages are the best/ in your belly they will rest/ Annaker's sausages are the worst/ in your belly they will burst.

Linking on from Dougiw2's pics of the restriction signs at dalmarnock, an idea for anyone at 2 specific stations

Platform 1 Argyle Street Station - heading to Motherwell etc (first station sign as you enter form Central LL) has still got the old ScotRail logo on it, the stagecoach 3 whooshes

Platform 1 Anderston Station - again heading towards Motherwell (as you enter the station), the sign says ANDERSON Tunnel

I may not be able to get them as ill be working the trains but a heads up for anyone in that area

HG-ers may remember the print shop on st. George's Rd at the centre of a major counterfeiting trial last year. It has new owners, a new name and a new policy.

Is it Cathcart Road?
"I before E, except after C" works in most cases but there are exceptions.

How about these. Don't know where the first is from, the second is from a shop in Aberfeldy.
