When I stayed with my parents in Glasgow, I lived in Marywood Square in Strathbungo. As a kid I would explore all the back lanes behind each street and always remembered those crazy cobbles. Was not a problem for an 8 year old boy with a BMX.
Will be sure to go back to my old haunts and get some good pics when I move back (june/july)
Going slightly off the cobble subject but still related I think, when I was about 8/9 the council were re-surfacing the road in marywood square and their little road roller vanished down a large hole right outside my house.
It later turned out that it was an entrance way to a old Tin mine. I remember my dad grounding me and big big brother for two weeks for going into it and exploring, of course after being told not to.
There were hundreds of old cobbles all piled up down there, maybe the councils way of out of sight and out of mind.
