Excellent stuff! A completely new dimension to past and present, I’ll have to have a go at that.

Brilliant photos! I live close to this building and often wondered what it was.

There's so much history in this area, from Bridgton Central station to High St Junction, the cattle market, and the old school at St Mary's Church, where Celtic FC were formed by Brother Walfred.

Excellent site by the way, I just found it a couple of days ago and haven't been off it since!

Great work by all involved.

Does anyone know what this building on Delvin Road, Cathcart used to be. (the long one with the white roof)

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en ... 5&t=k&z=19

It's on Google maps which I think for this area was taken sometime after 2000, so not sure how long the building has been demolished. I walk past where it used to be on the way to work, and it's now a car wash.

Just curious as to what used to be there.

cheers

Yep, that was Haldanes coaches garage. One of those "luxury" coach companies that went down the pan.

Brilliant work Ally. You have covered one of my favourite areas too. I particularly like the last one of Parkhead Cross.

Excellent, AD. It's amazing to see how folk took a pride in their shops, how beautiful the old signs were & how clean & well maintained the streets were. I guess civic pride means very little these days.

Thanks for those Ally.Really enjoyed.

I bet the folks at Parkhead Cross in 1923 would be shocked at the photo adverts in the window of the sun bed salon?? 8O

I wonder what will be acceptable 85 years on from today?
