Great website, I've been urban-exploring from the comfort of my computer 'til today, when I decided to do some of my own.

You can still see tramlines next to the Finnieston Crane, disappearing into the bushes. I took my camera....

Nice footwear.

Am I right in saying there used to be an old goods yard/station next to Duke Street where the car park is now - soon to be another business park according to the signs? (Good luck finding the stop valve....)

High Street Goods station. The wall shown in your picture was the side
of the structure. The rest of it was torn down in the early 1980's.

Would it last un-tagged in Glasgow (or the UK) ?

Targer wrote::?: Does anyone remember or have a photograph of the built-in to the pavement refuse containers usually for street sweepings. They were engineering marvels. Simple design, functional and blended in with their background. I don't think current engineering efforts could come up with an equally good design?

This is all thats left of the one that was in west Nile Street

Hello all - just discovered this site and feel right at home !

If you are interested in scottish cast ironwork have a look at our website (below) - we haven't as yet got as far as drain covers but maybe one day......Only the Dalry co is left in business ironically - although Glenfield still exist in a 4th generation kind of way....

This short street in Dowanhill has a timeless feel about it. Not much has changed in over a hundred years.

How it looks today.

Wow, even the trees have not swayed in 100 years.
Perhaps they should be moved to the Fossil Grove
