Was the horse on stage as well, I wonder?

Didn't the Lone Ranger ride Silver up the Maryhill Rd to visit Eastpark Children's Home, calling in at the Blythswood Cinema on the way?

Durachdan,

Eddy

PS Terrific, I've never heard of this. Can we be sure though that it was Clayton Moore making the visit?

Stop teasing pensioners,

Well I sent in a bunch of scans of tickets that appeared on the website and the book. Never got any recognition which I thought was a bit mean.

Can't you see the man behind the mask, oh yes it was Clayton Moore. They thought 'Silver' was just a fancy Rag'n'Bone man's horse and l think it was the other Blythswood he visited if you know what l mean

Scran has a picture of Clayton Moore visiting children at the Princes Margaret Rose Hospital in Edinburgh in August 1954.

"memories which were treated like shit by being placed on a forum which couldn't indicate what were new contributions and, couldn't be properly searched. "

that is probably a fair point.. that part does need work it is a wee bit clunky and i agree that that is an important part of the site.
i did the build the site in my spare time myself with no off the shelf Content Management System or phpBBS forums ( or similar ) like this site has.

all in all i thought it was an ok site ( as a start ) and all the info is in a database so at some point i may sort that part out (the fan memories section).

Blimey! That's a labour of love. I could fall in there and be lost for hours... :)

Do keep up the good work.

You ought to see the set list for the 40's and 50's. Jazz, Big Band, Opera and Choral Chiors at Green's Playhouse, priceless. I think someone should do a site on Glasgow's other great concert hall, St Andrews (now part of the Mitchell Library). I wonder where l could get a hold of the set list for that venue.

Andy, who does hold all the business records for Green's Playhouse?

There was a small exhibition on the history of St Andrew's Halls in the Granville St foyer at the Mitchell Library a few weeks back and they seem to still have drawings, photos etc. Whether it goes a far as set lists I don't know.
I hear the people sing.
