There are a few sets of pawn brokers balls around Partick, but not all of them are genuine.

Partick housing Association put them up on various buildings after they had been refurbed. Off the top of my head Merkland St is one location for a set of these (outside what was the Big Yellow Shop)

Sadly it's not a tradition that Cash Converters have continued, otherwise there'd be plenty of them all over place.

Looking up High Street from Duke Street in the early 1900s.
On the left is a pawnbrokers' shop, easily identified by the three golden balls hanging above the doorway.

Cracking pic there Mori, excellent detail, look at the two Policemen striding purposefully down the pavement or the Lady crossing the street with skirt slightly hitched, revealing a finely turned ankle. My favorite is the Ned in the white trainers, t-shirt, denims & baseball cap 8O 8O

I didnt think High street was as straight as that at that point, or is my imagination just playing up? Looks right with the Necropolis on the horizon mind you....
