Roger the elephant

The zoos page of hiddenglasgow

http://www.hiddenglasgow.com/zoos/index.htm

tells the story of Sir Roger the elephant. Anybody know anything about the story that his carcass was buried in the River Kelvin at Kelvinbridge? I'd appreciate a source, if this is a true story. Ta.

Hi....I have just found this site, it's brilliant! I have asked people in the know, and this theory of yours might be correct! Apparently, if they took Sir Roger's skin, then it would have been done by taxidermists at Kelvingrove Museum...thus the guts, muscle and other stuff MIGHT have been dumped in the River Kelvin behind the museum.

I should think any remaining part of the elephant would have been fed to the others at the zoo.

Am I sick ?
