Pick up a guide leaflet at the the St Mungo Museum. Alternatively, ask somebody here nicely and you'll get a guided tour...probably.

I used to visit the Necropolis with my late dad, then later myself when I was at the varsity next door. This in the early eighties. It was the only place I ever found pink bluebells growing, amongst the headstones. And presumably the bulbs are still there? White bluebells were "common" in the extensive bluebell woods of Cumbernauld (my then hometown) but never any pinks except the Necropolis, of all places.

One thing I didn't realise until leaving Scotland is that Glasgow also has a southern necroplis too. Anyone got photographs from there? In particular, I believe Thomas Lipton is buried there, he of tea fame?

When I first became a 'regular' in the late 80s I climbed the fence nearly every time I wanted to get in.

I met a guy the other day walking his cat called Fluffy up at the Bridge of Sighs. They live in the Milnbank flats.

Made me smile.

Clare Balding walks through the magnificent Glasgow Necropolis, a green oasis in the heart of the city.

Not bad, not brilliant but good listening.
