Alex Glass wrote:I recently had a fresh look at a short video I have about the renovation to the Kingston Bridge.
Here are a couple of captures from the video that I though may be of interest.
Although the quality of the capture is not very good the video is better. I have transfered it to DVD to get these and some other photos.
any chance of a copy, please. it's the only video l have seen that shows the building l worked in for 18 years

Och, don't give up, I was being nice...it could have been Dexter, then you'd have known about it!

just trawled through this project and found it interesting, I did a series of outreach talks for the "Tall Ship" on the Cluthas (A future historic project when I get notes/pictures back together again if anyone is interested). One thing missing so far was some of the history of the bridge sites. Victoria Bridge is the oldest complete bridge in Glasgow, The suspension bridge would have had this honour if the south tower had not split shortly after being completed and had to be rebuilt. Shades of the Squinty Bridge episode. Apart from having the suspension links replaced twice and the deck once it is the "original"structure. Glasgow Bridge (Jamaica St.) is a replica/replacement of the previous bridge on this site built by Thomas Telford.
