Hello WeeGee
That was my Gran's favourite shop I remember long slatted wooden floors old display counters and really friendly bubbly sales staff (remember them?)
What was the full slogan on the windows - "The House That....?
I get confused with the old Cowcaddens area
Whats on the Dallas's site now? - if motorway - which bit?

AldridgePrior wrote:Hey guys, new to the forum and totally fascinated by this and all the other threads about hidden streets and tunnels under Glasgow. Anyway, I was talking to my mum's uncle's brother's nephew's grandson and he said that during the Jacobite Rebellion that he worked with Scottish Gas and that he helped dig a tunnel from Grahamston to the high court. The tunnel was used to transport French prisoners of war captured at the Battle of Glasgow Green. I'm hoping to meet up with him again next week where he has promised to show me many plans and pictures he has of the tunnel's construction and when I get them I'll be sure to post them all on here. Honest I will - pinkey promise, right hand up to God and all that.
