I'm a bit lost here alex - is that building on the right the Great Eastern? In which case the car park would be my old playground at St Kent's- we used to chuck our ball over tha wall during break then ask if we could go and recover it - which meant sneaking down the tunnel!!

Is that the school that became Ladywell ? I think it's some sort of business centre now.

It is the Great Eastern on the right, and it is now a Business Centre of some sorts,
In this other photo you can still see the original tunnel in the right hand corner and also the conversion work to the rear of the School which still has it's spire:-

Although I look at it again, and the old photo has a kind've band across the stonework a cople of feet above the arch which the recent ones don't have.
It's must've been the "where is this thread" of last month that has made me spot his sorta thing!

At first view I thought it was the one next to the Great Eastern too, but when we used to kick our ball over the wall it was an excuse to walk down the tunnel. You could walk so far before it turned sharp left - I suppose going down to the Clyde. But in this photo there is no ledge to walk along and we certainly didn't walk in the burn itself. ( but it was 30 odd years ago!!!!)

Apologies for this image being "currently unavailable" in my previous post.

Oh, and this one too.

Almost certainly due to my incompetence in the Flickr department

Anyway, no lasting damage. Thank you for your cooperation.

Photograph of the Molendinar from the Drygate looking north, from an album of views of Glasgow. The Molendinar is one of several burns in the Glasgow area. It runs from Hogganfield Loch in the north down to the River Clyde. The water used to be pure enough for use in the ale industry, but the growth of other industries in its vicinity led to its pollution. It was eventually covered over. This photograph was taken looking north towards Glasgow Cathedral. The Cathedral's spire is visible on the left; the famous chimney stack of Tennant's St. Rollox chemical works is to its right; and the monuments in the Necropolis are to the right.
