At the start of this thread there was some confusion about the actual location of Scotrail House. As a boy I lived oposite the site when they were building it.

These houses where cleared to make way for the new building about late 1966. This is Port Dundas Roas even numbers oposite the junction of Airdrie Street.

Scotrail House was build back from the road almost where the rail tracks would hve lead to Buchanan Street Railway Station.

As noted previously the station was a little further south of where Railtrack House is located.

Does the taxi in the 'past' picture not look quite modern? Well, when I say modern I mean like the ones we see today.

It's an Austin FX4, which came out in late 1958. It has the original "ear" type indicators above the passenger doors.
They were built (with minor modifications) until 1997.

buchanan station

Well i only came on to this thread tonight to find out more info on the tunnel as i was at my girlfriends tonight, and she lives in the student flats beside the tunnel entrance. Tonight was the first time i'd looked round the back of the building in 14months and i was like thats buchanan street tunnel i really want to go exploring and find the other filled in end of the tunnel did anyone ever discover for sure exactly where it was??
