Bought an old news sheet the other day, "Underground News".
Printed around 1978, it has details of the Underground modernisation.
Anyway, here's a few plans featured within, I can't remember if these have been on here before.

The article mentions driverless trains......I've used these round the world with no problem; but there should always be a guard or similar there to reduce any fears about safety/problems etc. They do cost money though.........

i had high hopes when reading that in the paper but its a case of `same old` when it gets to the bit saying we need funding i fear we will see the plans finalised then put back a few years because of funding trouble again

We seem to spend enough money in this country building luxury flats and housing estates in the country, and wasting it all on alcohol and drugs. Spend money on something useful like transport links, and be more like the rest of the developed world, which generally speaking never misses the opportunity to improve PUBLIC transport...

The Government doesn't spend tax revenue on drink and drugs - individuals do. Are you saying that the public should fund public infrastructure projects from its take home pay?

I really can't see this happening, and it may not be the best use of the money anyway.
As much as I like the Subway i'd prefer to see a tramway system introduced along the major roads in the city, and some sort of road bridge (NOT a footbridge) across the river at Clydebank or Scotstoun.

I like how you find this an outrageous idea! ::):

Im saying raise duty on all alcohol and raise other taxes at the same time. People in this country are far too used to cherishing their 'take home pay', to the point that individual homes are Im sure lovely, but the rest of the country looks about 20 years behind most of the rest of Europe...
