No criticism of the above intended, indeed I like the 'sign' element and 'reflection' element in one image but, referencing the other thread about photos 'having been done', there nothing on the above that would show up on a search for Park or Bar or Argyle or anything for that matter.

It'd be dead easy for another poster to inadvertantly post similar images leading to accusations of 'it's been done'.

...or in other words, could we have captions on photos, please?

Since there's no tagging of photos on php forum boards, it's almost impossible to search for photos of a particular place without one.

Anyone got any idea why the stated Glasgow distance would have been to Royal Exchange (Square)?

I thought that (in times gone by at least) distances were to Glasgow Cross.

Just to confuse people more there is a 'standard measurements' thing in george square on the side of the council offices
Hmmm I wonder what happens if i press that lever.... Ahh It operates that shiny new plug socket!

The diamond road signs are part of a diversion / suggested route as in follow the diamonds from A to B. Usually used on motorways fro going through junctions.

Cessnock Cornershop.

Postby MungoDundas » Sat Dec 25, 2010 12:35 am

Grtz,

Mebbe this should be in that 'East End's braw' thread,
however this shot is just from a grocers on PRW corner
of Elizabeth St. in Cessnock.

I'm thinking (from hazy memory now vague) they mean
broiler? Better for soup but not as the main attraction?
