Wasn't it where the Alliance & Leicester is now, just across from Watt Brothers. I just about remember it.

I got engaged to my ex wife in the Berni Inn in 1975 . We had Prawn Cocktail, Steak Dianne with chips for the lady and a T-Bone for me. Pudding was a slab of Black Forest Gateaux all washed down with a bottle of Liebfraumilch
