Berni Inn, Hope Street

Postby zoidberg » Sat Feb 13, 2010 10:48 pm

Does anyone have any photo's of the Berni Inn in Hope Street. My Granny worked there for years and my memories of her are of her in her uniform working behind the bar there.

Wasn't it where the Alliance & Leicester is now, just across from Watt Brothers. I just about remember it.

I got engaged to my ex wife in the Berni Inn in 1975  . We had Prawn Cocktail, Steak Dianne with chips for the lady and a T-Bone for me. Pudding was a slab of Black Forest Gateaux all washed down with a bottle of Liebfraumilch
I thought this was the pinnacle of sophistication
Perhaps that is why she dumped me ::):

I still do. Perhaps that's why I'm single. :D

Apart from that Liebfraumilch nonsense. And Prawns. Who can eat those things?

I think it was near the corner of Hope Street and Bath Street, but it's a long time ago now.

I never touch prawns! Do you know they hang around sewage outlet pipes treading water with their mouths open? They love it!
