Anyone heading up to Lathalmond for the Open Days on the weekend of 15th and 16th August? Was thinking of heading up on the Sunday myself.

The shed has gone but the administration building is still there, although unoccupied and its future uncertain no doubt. Took a few pictures back in July just after the demolition but never got round to posting them.

Thanks Viceroy, its strange to see this side of the street empty but as the saying goes nothing lasts forever.

A few years ago i remember reading about a media company wanting to locate their studios in to this location, obviosly nothing ever came of it, oh well ho hum another gap for a boring plastic development to be constructed.

I have been looking around for some information or photos of the Leyland Atlantean which was used by the parks dept in the 1980s.

I remember seeing the bus around Castlemilk Glasgow but I think that last time I can recall seeing it was at the nursery near Cambuslang, Kirkhill? Which was where it used to be parked regularly.

I was always curious about the bus at the time as it carried corporation colours and not the Strathclyde Orange like the rest of the LA fleet.

From what I remember it was fitted out with a kitchen and washing area.

What was the history and where did it end up?

The Play bus.
"I before E, except after C" works in most cases but there are exceptions.

Thanks Guys,

I don't think that is the same bus.

When I said Nursery I was refering to the Parks dept type. Flowers etc. The bus was a sort of self contained workshop come tea room.

I think that the bus also had double doors which must have be unusual for the time. I would have said that it was maybe around 86-88 when I first seen it an them early 90 when mostly parked up at the nursery.
