Looking at my copy of Headley and Meulenkamp's FOLLIES, GROTTOES AND GARDEN BUILDINGS I see that St Conan's is in there, though for once their photo of the building fails to do it justice (much better pics posted here by Tobester).
Its says that parts of the fabric of the building, in true folly tradion, have been salvaged from other buildings including a screen from Eaton public school and a bell from Skerryvore Lighthouse.
"There is also a story that a friend of Campbell's deemed the design of the proposed apse dangerous. Campbell built a scale model and drove a steam roller over it. Not a scratch on the model."
