Cardiff at Night

Postby Dexter St. Clair » Fri May 29, 2009 7:06 am

I spotted a phot from this series by Maciej Dakowicz. He must be brave or good with the chat as he's captured a good chunk of what a night out is like in a city.

They just love that Scottish accent.

The series starts here

It's romantic, sexy. frightening and I'm jealous that no one has done a Glasgow version.

There are a hundred ways to skin a cat. Note that the photographs are taken at chest level.

Wrap an SLR in a scarf with just the lens protruding. Slip a bubble-level into the hot-shoe. Wear subdued colours. Most people will be too pissed to notice, as you can see.

Horrified I am. But I've seen worse, just, in Sauchiehall Street at night.

I was in Sauchiehall Street last Saturday night. The behaviour might be similar but the streets are clean. Of course Cardiff is run by the Lib Dems the party that represents the Tories in Wales.

My part of Somerset referred to Cardiff as the "Hole with a mint in it". Never been there, but now I see why.

Doubt he'll be getting any commissions from the Welsh Tourist Board anytime soon...

I'm no expert, but wouldn't you need a pretty serious bit of lens to take such shots handheld in such lighting conditions?

I actually thought this was a shot from the upcoming new series of Doctor Who with the new young doc fighting the cybermen in a way the yoof would be totally in sync with.

Wales on Sunday used them in 2006.
