http://jonathanmcgurk.fotopic.net/c1501295.html - 2007 Travel Photography - Canada:

Captions have been added to some photographs. I have a large archieve of photographs on the website as I am sure some of you are beware and it is hard work to add captions when you do not have a lot of time to do so. I hope to have full cpations added in this gallery by the end of the year. If you want to know information about any of the photographs or about Canada itself then you can comment on the forum or PM me or e - mail [email protected]

Enjoy!!!

Best Regards

Airdrie - Bathgate Project (BIG UPDATE) Photographs

Postby jonno22 » Sat May 09, 2009 7:25 pm

Hi all. Photographs and more and full information can be found in the photograph captions by clicking on the links below.
Airdrie - Bathgate (A - B) Project Photographs From Yesterday (BIG UPDATE)
http://jonathanmcgurk.fotopic.net/c1619388.html - This link will take you to the start of the gallery which I created last year with photoraphs from November 2008 onwards (to yesterday's photographs) to do with the project.

http://jonathanmcgurk.fotopic.net/c1619388_73.html - This link will take you to the start of yesterday's photographs if you scroll down to the bottom four photographs and continue to the next page and onwards. Updates from yesterday include a visit to the construction site of what will be Bathgate L.M.D. for which work is cracking on quite fast and should be complete by October this year. Updates also include photographs of the current station carpark at Bathgate which closes on Monday 11th May for construction work to take place in the area to do with the project and the area of what will be the new Bathgate station and 400 space carpark. From Bathgate I got a bus to Blackridge where I then walked 6 miles (I think, possibly more) to Caldercruix. During my walk I took photographs of the following:

*Propsed Blackridge station (If the proposal to built a station here is backed by the Scottish Government in the future years)

* Evidence of the orginal trackbed and old station which served the original Airdrie - Bathgate railway line in the bygone years - Forrestfield and Westcraigs station included

* Evidence to show the cutting of all trees along the Bathgate - Drumgelloch area which finished in March by Q.T.S. who carried out the tree cutting work

Full cpations have been given to most of the images and I will be adding a complete set of captions to older images also over the weekend, especially tonight.

I thoroughly enjoyed wlaking the route even if I walked thorugh all kinds of weather including hail, heavy wind and rain and when it decided to come out the sunny weather

Indeed!!

Moved to the appropriate place. It would be nice if you inlined some of your images jonno... would make it look a little less like this same post is getting cross posted around forums to drive traffic to your site ;)

Well a screendump is one thing, but why not use the images URL

http://newimages.fotopic.net/?iid=y0p7jr&outx

I'll refrain from inline linking myself, perhaps Jonno will post images to this forum rather than taking us away and pissing us off.

Hi Jonno

I was a bit stern earlier, sorry. I see you are showing large quantities of photos which many will enjoy. Perhaps if you select a handful for the inline as a teaser. This would mean casual browsers could view your work and decide if they want to spend more time looking at it. Lets face it you are essentially placing an ad, make it visual and you may get more traffic

Only a thought

All the best

Dave

I don't really look at my site as being 'traffic' I have my site for people to few my photography. Like I say I thought it would be easier. On some forums the links i copy nad paste from my site show a picture when i've made a post but obviously not on HG.

Click the 'Img' button above the text box when you are composing a post, jonno, and paste the image in between the start and end tags (which is where the cursor will be positioned anyway).

I was nearly on that train, btw, but just missed it so went to the pub instead. :D
