Hi from Hidden Dublin http://www.hidden-dublin.com
I agree with Sharon when she suggests Hidden Glasgow should look to expand.
We've been fans for years.
Love to hear comments.
Best from Brian.

Hello there. I keep meaning to pop over to Dublin for a visit. ULYSSES is my fave book of all time, and I really fancy a few pints in Toner's Bar, a location used by cinema giant Sergio Leone in GIU LA TESTA. See you soon mibee.

Hi from sunny Australia. Took this photo in 1963 of O'Connel St from Nelson's Column. That was before the IRA blew it up.

They've(the locals) renamed a couple, maybe more, of Dublins' statues "The tart wi' the cart"(Molly Malone) and "The Floozy in the Jacuzzi"(Some random bint in a fountain).

Dunno why that just came to mind but I thought it was funny

I think the statue of Molly malone is a bronze and I noticed when I was last in Dublin (6 years ago) that two projecting (some may say thrusting) parts of the statue are not blackened by the weather like the remainder of the statue. I think locals and tourist alike have lovingly de-oxidised these bits

Every other person I talk to in Glasgow knows Bristol or the West Country. I wonder how many, like myself, have come from that part of the world and settled in Glasgow on account of the humour and way of life.

Bristol is a good west coast port city built on the same trade that made Glasgow. I'll lend my weight to an HG Bristolian franchise if anyone's interested.

Hello, Dublin. One of my favourite places, especially on Bloomsday.

My wee lad thought this advert on Ulster tv was funny.
It is for a Dublin radio station.

This wee story about water shortages has been covered in N.I. and Rep. of Ireland.

dub1,

I see the Cadburys Factory is closing down in England and there is going to be a loss of jobs.
Kraft are supposed to be building some place out in Poland.
I suppose that means the place in Dublin is also closing down.
Remember passing it once many years ago when we got slightly lost after taking a wrong turn.

I know someone who had Cadbury shares and has done quite nicely out of it but do feel sorry for those who will be
left on the dole.
