The puffin picture is superb, what's the story of its creation?

Spent a Saturday night in Kirkwall a few years ago. The entire population seemed to be falling down drunk in the street from about half six on, scary stuff.

The puffin was a bit lucky, I'd spotted a few zooming about from the ferry to orkney but mostly just caught the little splash as they disappeared under water. This little chap just happened to be skimming along the surface on these weird patches of dead flat water (in the middle of the sea. Possibly where the Atlantic and North Seas meet?) I dunno, but it was weirdly flat in among choppy water. So it was just perfect timing to be able to capture his movement across the water and all the little splashes. :)

I didn't see any more puffins.

I was in Kirkwall briefly on a sat night too, and can confirm the entire population still seem to be making good use of the pubs!
