Any chance you could scale down your photos a bit before you post them? ;>

No, I'm not on 56k; I just think forum threads are no place for enormous inline images.

OK, I'm willing to take advice, I'm hosting from photobucket, which advises 250k, is that still too big, do I need to compress before uploading?

It's not the file size, it's the dimensions. Just try taking them down a bit to something more suitable. If you look around other threads, you'll see examples of what I mean.

It maybe really the dimensions gridrunner.
I also host at the same place and I scale them down to a size that fits on the screen for all to see.
I try and make the file size as small as possible for dial up :)

Have you any editing programs PSP, Photoshop etc?

Say;

600*450 ish.

Save for the web or at most JPG compression level 7 (Medium) 5 or 4 even better.

No one is having a go, it just messes up a lot of peoples screens. Especially poor people who can't afford resolutions over 1024*768.
