A braw photo, Dazza.
To be honest I wish the ERI had never gone away from there, to lose such continuity from its origins, and a central location (not to say the new one is like an out-of-town shopping centre, and glossing over the scandalous financial doings entirely) but it's a bit late for such sentiments.

New light is being shed on a mysterious network of tunnels and caves carved out of rock underneath Edinburgh.
Scientists using radar imaging equipment have discovered the ancient passageways at "Gilmerton Cove" extend much further than originally thought.

Right, who on the city council do we think was getting backhanders to shut down the Royal Overseas League Club?
I've stayed there twice, and the building seemed perfectly sound to me.

On a day trip to Edinburgh in October I noticed some double red lines at the side of a road.
I believe this means you can drop someone off but you can't park in the area.
Do they have these lines in Glasgow?
I believe they have them in parts of London.
Haven't seen them anywhere in Northern Ireland.

I've heard it's just closed whilst they consider refurbishment

I'm house-sitting in Edinburgh for the accompanying couple of weeks so I expected to take a stab at seeing the fireworks this week's end in the wake of missing the opportunity of getting pics of the tattoo.

Thundersnow in Edinburgh. Apparently this is a rare phenomenon.
Noise was so loud police were called about explosions.

I hope to be in Edinburgh in the near future.
Is the Leith Walk worth doing and as someone not from the local area is Leith a safe spot in general?
I am sure there are a few people on here can advise.
I have been to Edinburgh quite a few times over the years but never really ventured too far from the city centre.

done the water of leith walk from haymarket to leith last year dot.lovely flat walk and the market at stockbridge is worth a stop at if you are there on a weekend.leith itself is quite gentrified these days and leith walk will take you back into the city and is full of nice bars and restaurants.hope this helps.i will be there again in the summer for a couple of days.portobello is a favourite place of ours and always worth a visit.fifteen minutes by bus from the city centre.

There are quite a number of very pleasant parts of Leith walk these days Dot, and none of it is particularly unsafe. My daughter lives in Leith now, and loves it there! She often walks from there up to the Playhouse or even Waverley to meet me and we'll go for a meal or a drink. There are also a load of new restaurants at the top of the Walk, and I think most of the roadworks are gone, or going, now.
I hope you have an enjoyable visit.

Well I had a good wee trip to Edinburgh even if the accommodation in Leith wasn't up to much.
That was back in April and I hope to be back sometime next year but will be staying elsewhere.
Probably pick somewhere a bit closer to the city centre.
