Preserving Listed Buildings On Computer

Postby My Kitten » Fri Mar 25, 2005 7:32 am

Eek thought I when reading this last night.

Listed buildings could be demolished and preserved in virtual form to make way for fresh architecture from the country's best designers, according to the culture secretary, Tessa Jowell.

Paves the way for 'virtual' governments assembling in 'virtual' parliamentary buildings then.....making the likes of Ms. Jowells 'virtually' redundant.

I think the phrase is 'talking oneself out of a job', if my virtual memory serves me correctly.

Beam me up Scotty.

Absolutely shocking.

From the way these people talk you would think that there was a shortage of empty sites. And it's not as if we don't have enough crap unlisted buildings that could be demolished & redeveloped instead.

Virtual record - my arse.

I suppose one advantage is that the tourists wouldn't have to actually come to our shitty country to see our historic buildings. But then we couldn't fleece them & who would buy all that tartan tat?

ahhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
... they’re all made out of ticky tacky, and they all look just the same.
