Proper Fixie

Postby MungoDundas » Sat Oct 22, 2011 11:12 pm

Was pleased to see a proper fixed drive bicycle at Harrogate Pump House Museum.

an 1890s Alpha Bantam (with pneumatic tyres & mudguards).
Front wheel drive with a quality saddle.

They have two other nice cycles and a tandem tri-cycle as well.

NB: this museum charges for entry. (England-shire)

I might be wrong, but the Bantam has a gearbox in the front hub as far as I know. I'm not sure if it can freewheel or not...
