Re: MPs expenses

Ref duplicate claims & Jim Devine, it would appear from the Times a few eeks back that the rules state that an MP has to sign every expenses claim - the staff may prepare the claim, but the MP must sign each one, and is responsible for checking the content thereof. In Devine's case he's a backbe...

Re: Its orange walk day today in glasgow

Listen you can spam all you like and deflect the subject as per usual, quite astonishing that not one of you spineless cowards even has anything to say regards yesterdays protests against our soldiers past and present in what should have been a day of celebration to those who have fought and died f...

Re: Parking fine at Silverburn

Parent and child parking spaces are fair game as far as I'm concerned, they are great, always near the door and plenty of room to get the bags in. Having kids is a lifestyle choice not a disability, on the other hand disabled spots should be much more strictly enforced with penalty points for offen...

Re: Parking fine at Silverburn

eob: I can understand both sides of your dilema, but bearing in mind the hassle that could result from ignoring it... might be easier just to pay. The multistorey at Silverburn has a load of P&C bays on each level - not just on the surface car park at the front; no use if you want tesco though. ...

Re: M74 Extension goes ahead

That looks like a really badly thought out plan. Its cutting out half of the M8 routes southbound that cannot access the new link road. IMO, you are going to see more congestion in the tradeston areas with folk leaving the M8 south and looping around to get on the new M74 road. Why didnt they link ...

Re: Mitchell Library - not on fire

But... a fire alarm in one wing may not mean the evacuation of the whole building, just that one wing.

Re: First ScotRail Open Day Photographs From Yesterday

Excuse my english upbringing, but is triumphs what we used to call'top trumps' - each eprson has a stack of cards, you choose a variable in which you think your 'card' is best, and the person with the highest wins cards from the other players? Your gallery is really nice, but some of your captions n...

Re: Number plate or speed camera?

I was going the opposite direction, so would have seen, and possibly ignored the Police before I saw the van. Itw as just the odd look of the van and teh absence of warning signs set me wondering.

Number plate or speed camera?

Last night, on M8, between J11 and J10 Eastbound. A white transit style van with blacked out windows in the rear door and a single yellow strip above the windows. No other markings on the van. Van parked at 45 degrees to road up on the verge on the outside of a curve. There was a 'camcorder' sized b...

Re: MPs expenses, SCANDAL.

No wonder M.P.s wanted to exempt themselves from the Freedom of Information Act. Oh, sorry, it's the newspaper's fault & our fault for misinterpreting & misunderstanding the exact nature of M.P.'s expenses. I hope that they all paid Capital Gains Tax when their second homes were sold. Regar...

Re: One for the railway heads

Crikey! Me thinks you need to be a little more concise with less repetition in your captions :)
