Ongoing Sauchiehall Street Closure

Anyone know the latest on how long Sauchiehall Street will be closed? I've had a look and a search and I can't find anything already posted about the plans.

Cresswell Lane

Does anyone remember a Royal Mail sorting office on Cresswell Lane way back in the day? I work part time in Zizzi at the moment and the renovation was a big design project so it stirs up memories in a lot of the local customers about how it used to look. I love talking to folk about it and so far on...

Blue Bouncy Monsters

This is driving me In. Sane. Does anyone remember the advert (relatively recently) for some sort of comforting drink / breakfast for which the slogan was something about getting a hug? The advert featured fuzzy blue bouncy ball monsters bouncing up to folk and hugging them on the way to work, at the...

Early morning coffee

I find myself awake at times earlier and earlier in the morning and looking for somewhere to go out to get an early breakfast - anyone know of a place you could sit with book that's open at maybe 5 or 6?

Re: Parking Charges

Nope, wasn't a disabled parking bay, just an ordinary single yellow line, upon which disabled badge holders can normally park within hours during which other motorists cannot. Doesn't the last part of that sentence contradict the first? I understand that you're differentiating it from a disabled ba...

Re: Tell The Council What You Think about Shawlands!!

Got this email today: RESULTS OF SHAWLANDS TOWN CENTRE SURVEY PUBLISHED Glasgow City Council last year carried out a major public consultation asking people who use Shawlands Town Centre for their thoughts on how the area could be improved. The findings of this consultation - which generated 1240 re...

Re: Oddities

Spotted in a side street in Shawlands ..it has been there for over a week now . :) http://mrmoto.smugmug.com/Other/GLASGOW/DSCF01030141edited-2/751449663_YP5dB-M.jpg That's right across the street from me. Did you ever figure out what it was for? I noticed over Christmas that the disused-looking sh...

Re: What Camera have you got?

I have to say though I had my eyes opened by the 3 network conditions not allowing (in fact completely barring) email retrieval without the additional expense of a bolt-on. For a monthly contract deal that's nothing short of scandalous! Surely that's in-built-to-the-phone-like-text-messaging...

Re: Suggestions for first d-SLR...

On the subject of filters - I wouldn't spend any money on most of them since you can do colour correction in post-processing (though some programs are better than others). The tinted ones are really only useful for film, you can even do graduated colour tints if you have a minute to learn how to set...

Door Latch Hell

Does anyone know the technical name for the type of spring-loaded latch you get on internal doors that are almost like ball latches, but rather than a free-rotating sphere, use a spinning cylinder pinned down through the centre? They'll hold a door shut but you don't need to turn or push a handle to...
