Re: first and last gigs

Your parent took you to see Steps. I wish! Actually, my mum took me to the Fleadh...along with her drunken friends. I do remember seeing Rory Gallagher, Andrew Strong (guy from The Commitments) and Christy Moore but not much else. Similarly, the only thing I really remember about the INXS gig is th...

Re: first and last gigs

Honestly can't remember my first gig... The first two memorable gigs were possibly INXS at the SECC Kick tour, or Glasgow Fleadh at Glasgow Green featuring a very inebriated Rory Gallagher. Last gig...going to see the Zombies at the ABC next Tuesday.

Re: unusual building at Castle Street just round from Royston Ro

Does anyone have pics of what the street looked like with the library?? Also, is this building not next to the old railway line coming out of Buchanan Street to Garngad Train Station??

Re: Uncovered: Old Shop Signage (temporarily revealed)

Yes, you're right. I'm afraid I count wooden-toy shops in the 'craft-y gift-y ' category. There's still a couple of them around though, one in King Street or thereabouts, the other just off Byres Road.

There is one called Big Top selling similar type stuff on St George's Road.

Re: Adobe Lightroom

I'm also a fan of Lightroom. Don't know about other websites but I found it difficult to upload my pics to webshots. However, Lightroom allows you to export files using PictureSync which makes the job really easy.

Re: Glasgow River Festival 19-20 July 08

Who was that tube with the microphone??? Me and the missus also felt that there wasn't enough nautical events on offer. Why couldn't they put on something like these? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7516660.stm , http://www.tallshipsfestival.com/info.html or even some evening activities? Yes, yes, wha...

Re: I got a parking ticket and I don't want to pay

Cheers for the comments.
Looks like I'm gonna have to take a drive back down to Minerva Way to see if the signs are really there!
Regards fighting the power it does seem a bit of a gyp that after appeal you lose the right to pay the half price fee.

Parking Ticket ... any ideas?

Just spent an enjoyable afternoon at the river festival only to return to my car and find a parking ticket. The contravention on the ticket is 01 - "parked in a restricted street during prescribed hours" an explanation of which is "Parked on a yellow line or in a street where there is...

Re: Sighthill - Fountainwell Place Demolition

Alzaman, far as I'm aware the Red Road flats are contaminated with asbestos so can't be blown up, rather deconstructed brick by brick! The following article explains this http://www.sundayherald.com/misc/print.php?artid=2262580.

Byrds to the Eagles

Still to be finalised but just to give you a heads up. We're http://www.myspace.com/lastnationalband looking to stage an event of West Coast music at the Opry end of July. Similar idea to our tribute to the Last Waltz last March. This time we're looking to play some songs that may be recognisible to...
