Re: Clydebank Baths facing demolition

Surely there is so little of what could be considered to be original Clydebank left that the baths should be restored. After all it is West Dunbartonshire councillor Ronnie McColl and his predecesors that let them get into the state they are in. Credit where credit is due, blame likewise...no?

Re: What does the people of Glasgow need?

If you want something done , go out and do it yourself. The elected, only represent you, that does not stop you. If they are not doing what you want what is stopping you . You.

Re: Save Otago Lane

Set Prince Charles on the developers. Is this area not heavily undermined? The flats on the west side of Otago St. were sliding into the Kelvin, and the Koh-i-noor slid off this bluff into the Kelvin. How much ground remediation will have to be done as the other bank of the Kelvin was a "Mineral...

Re: Project: The Great Eastern

Went by this evening, and it looked like they put up the scafolding to bear the weight when they removed the roof. From my vantage point, the bottom of the Drygate, it looked like there was nothing under roof level and the floor below which looks like it was added after the fact. It must smell like ...

Re: Good Restaurants

Just a block before 'The Village' in Tradeston there is a new-ish Halal restaurant 'The Kharai Palace'. Good authentic food, made to order, and very reasonable prices. The Fish Pakora is astounding.

Hi Alex What is happening to the renovated fishmarket building. I know that there is a sculpture sudio in residence, but other than the occasional exhibition, it does not seem to get very much use. Why not use it at the weekend as a farmers market? There is lots of parking nearby, and when spoke to ...

I don't know how large the P O tunnelling under the church at Cathedral/Castle street was but the church was not a slight building. There is a better picture of it on Page 2 of "Glasgow in Colour pre-1980. The tunnel under the Royal was not very substantial or deep. When the Biochemistry Dept. ...

Tunnels, GRI and Townhead

Hi I worked in the Royal Infirmary in the late 60's, and can confirm that there was a tunnel which ran north to south the entire length of the hospital. However it was not very deep, and used to transport things around the hospital. eg dead bodies to the mortuary etc. I also know that a church at th...
